family party

can i host a (family) party without a booking?
no, that is not allowed and goes against our house rules. family parties are only possible with a booking through our website.

what does a family party at jeugdland look like?
you book a 3-hour timeslot. you’ll get a family table in the waterzaal or at eetbaar eiland (depending on availability and the weather). coffee, tea, lemonade, and/or water is included. kids can enjoy free play. optional children’s activities or catering can be booked.

how many people can participate in a family party?
small family party: up to 15 people*
large family party: up to 35 people*

can i bring more people than specified?
no, this is not possible.

do i need to provide the exact number of guests?
no, just make sure not to exceed the maximum number of people.

can i choose where to sit?
no, you’ll be placed in the waterzaal or at eetbaar eiland. both locations are available in all weather. other areas are not possible.

will we be the only group at that spot?
there may be another (family) party at the same location – the space is set up to accommodate this.

can i arrive earlier to decorate the venue?
no, family tables are only available during your booked timeslot.

can i book a family party for a group?
yes! it’s also perfect for friend groups with kids, sports teams, or any group with children.

reservation & booking

how many days in advance can i book a family party?
usually 75–90 days in advance. check the booking module for availability.

i can’t select a date or time slot. what does this mean?
then we’re fully booked. without a booking, parties are not allowed.

can i make a temporary reservation?
yes, this gives you time to invite guests. once confirmed, you pay to make it official.

can i cancel the family party?
yes, cancellation is free up to 7 days before the scheduled date.

can i change the date of my booking?
yes, if requested at least 7 days in advance. we’ll refund the original booking and help you rebook.

can i book extra activities and catering?
yes, depending on availability. email feestjes@jeugdlandamsterdam.nl for options.

can i rent a room or table outside the general times?
no, only the available timeslots can be booked.

can i rent a room?
this is not possible for private family parties. business inquiries: verhuur@jeugdlandamsterdam.nl.

food & drinks

can i bring my own cake, food, and drinks?
yes! just bring your own plates, cups, and cutlery.

can we have pizza or fries delivered?
no, only self-brought food is allowed.

can i heat food or use the kitchen, oven, microwave, or fridge?
no, except for baby food.

activities & decorations

can i book extra activities or catering for the family party?
yes, depending on availability. note: extra activities are only for children. email feestjes@jeugdlandamsterdam.nl.

can i organize or hire an activity, such as a clown, face painter, bouncy castle, or laser game?
no, that is not allowed.

can we build in the huttendorp?
yes, regular visitors can borrow up to four hammers. for family parties, you can book a woodworking workshop. email feestjes@jeugdlandamsterdam.nl.

can we bring confetti, water balloons, piñatas, or other mess?
no, that is not allowed — not even in the waterzaal. balloons and garlands are okay if secured. we like to keep the environment clean for wildlife.

can we participate as a group in the free walk-in program?
no, the walk-in program is for individual visitors only.

parking & accessibility

what is jeugdland amsterdam’s address?
valentijnkade 131, amsterdam.

can i park on the premises?
no, there are limited (paid) spots on valentijnkade. extra parking: science park p7.

is there a kiss and ride?
yes, drop-offs are possible at the white gate at the end of valentijnkade.

can a guest with limited mobility park on the premises?
yes, email team@jeugdlandamsterdam.nl in advance. you’ll receive a parking permit.

house rules & safety

is alcohol, smoking, vaping, or drug use allowed?
no, this is not allowed on the premises or in the pavilion. smoking only in the designated area – ask at the bar.

can we swim?
only regular visitors can swim in the nature pool during opening hours.

can i bring a speaker or boombox?
no, loud music is not allowed. we like to keep things peaceful.

bad weather & refunds

what happens if the weather is bad?
you’ll always have a place in the waterzaal, regardless of the weather.

will i get a refund if fewer guests attend?
no refunds unless you notify us at least 5 days in advance (feestjes@jeugdlandamsterdam.nl). only possible if switching from a large to a small family party.
